Lost to Peterhouse W1 by 1 1/2 lengths
After a long head-to-head the yesterday, W1 were raring to go for a shorter sprint. Unusually, city sprints was to be held away from the normal carnage around the boathouses, as it was on the reach this year. Our first race was in the semi-final against Peterhouse W1. After a short, but chunky warm up, we found ourselves at the starting line. Sam out his arm down, the umpire called attention and suddenly we were off. The start was strong and clean and although Peterhouse were strong, we were determined not to give up. 300m in, with a call from Sam, we held our heads high and gave our final push, before crossing the finish line just after Peterhouse.
Overall, it was a great first experience of side-by-side racing for the term, and a really fun race. Well done to Peterhouse W1 for a fantastic row and great competition!
